App Development

If you are completely new with creating apps,  I would first start with the “code.org app lab.” Once you have an understanding of how to use the app lab, then I would start working with the “MIT app inventor.” Last, I would start getting use to using android studio. Android studio is a big step up from “app lab” and “app inventor” but it is very useful. If you have any trouble figuring out how to use these, either go on “Youtube” and look up tutorials and your teacher. Android studio will take a while to get use to so don’t worry if you aren’t able to figure it out by yourself.

  • App lab- First, make an account and then there will be a button all the way at the bottom of the page under “My projects.”
  • App Lab has two tutorials: (Each requires that you sign in to Code.org first)
  • MIT app inventor- First, make an account and then click on “Create apps!”

Learning code

If you are interested in learning how to code or if your project requires coding, I would use “codecademy.com.” This is a very good reliable website that helps you learn Javascript, Python,  HTML, and CSS. It also helps you learn how to use Ruby, Ruby on rails, and jQuery. This website can also help you build a small simple website or how to manage and control certain parts in your code.

  • Codecademy.com- For this you will also have to make an account in order to use this website. Once you get logged in you will be able to pick from different lessons that are interactive and step-by-step.
